🔊 The Joint Heating Commission (JHC) — representing ECFD, Eurofuel, FuelsEurope, and UPEI — welcomes the European Commission’s initiative to develop a European Affordable Housing Plan.
We fully support the Plan’s objective to ensure access to affordable, sustainable, and decent housing, and emphasise that access to clean, efficient, and cost-effective heating must be at its core.
👉 Key priorities:
✔️ Inclusive heating decarbonisation pathways, including renewable liquid fuels (HVO)
✔️ Fair solutions for 20 million rural/off-grid households
✔️ Support for fuel-flexible, renovation-ready technologies
✔️ Coherent EU policies that work together to avoid new burdens on consumers
The JHC stands ready to support the Commission with data, expertise, and real-world examples to ensure that the heating transition is inclusive, affordable, and climate-friendly for all Europeans.
