When the heating season starts, a system’s weak spots show up fast: rooms slow to warm up, uneven temperatures and a pump working harder than it should. Often the cause is the same – the system isn’t balanced.
Why balance?
Water always takes the easiest route. Without balancing, circuits close to the boiler or heat pump get too much flow while the furthest circuits get too little – uneven comfort, higher return temperatures and wasted energy. Hydronic balancing makes sure the right flow reaches every part of the system, so it performs as designed.
Oventrop Hydrocontrol V
Hydrocontrol V is a balancing valve for closed-circuit heating and cooling systems:
- Y-pattern design with low pressure loss
- Infinitely variable, lockable presetting that can be checked at any time
- All functions operated from the top – even in tight risers
- Two test points included for flow measurement via differential pressure, e.g. with Oventrop’s OV-DMC measuring system
- Threaded DN 15–50 (PN 25, Kvs 3.8–44), plus flanged and grooved versions for larger sizes
Good to know: Balancing must be based on the system’s design flow rates. On larger installations it should be done together with the consulting engineer.
