Siemens burner controls are found on boiler burners on board and ashore. The classic LAL controls run the start sequence and watch the flame through an RAR photocell or a QRA UV detector; on larger plant, the LMV burner management systems take over fuel/air ratio control through SQM actuators, with an AZL display for the engineer and optional O2 trim. Siemens lists ship approvals from Lloyd’s and DNV-GL for the LMV range.
