Oilon and the future of low-carbon heating

At Arne Nielsen A/S we work every day with industrial burners from manufacturers like Oilon, so we follow closely how this technology is evolving to meet Europe’s climate goals. A recent visit by the European heating association Eurofuel to Oilon in Finland offered a useful look at where the industry is heading.

A look at clean combustion

During the visit, Eurofuel’s members explored Oilon’s research into clean combustion and renewable fuel applications. A central theme was advanced burner technology that can run on both conventional and renewable fuels — equipment designed to cut emissions and improve efficiency without sacrificing the reliability and affordability that homes and businesses depend on.

No single solution

One message stood out: decarbonising heating will not come down to a single technology. Reaching Europe’s climate targets will instead require a mix of approaches — renewable liquid fuels, efficient combustion, electrification and heat recovery — chosen to fit local conditions and customer needs.

As Eurofuel’s Secretary General Federica Miano put it, the shift to sustainable heating depends on several technologies working together, with innovation in both renewable fuels and heat recovery helping to lower emissions while keeping energy reliable and affordable.

What it means for our customers

Modern burners are increasingly built to handle renewable fuels and deliver higher efficiency, which means existing installations often have more room to improve than owners expect.
